Transfer Driver
About The Position
The Transfer Driver transports U-Haul equipment to and from repair shops and between U-Haul centers and dealerships, helping keep the fleet maintained and available to customers. The role uses U-Haul’s proprietary technology and mobile transfer programs to assess and care for field vehicles. The position is open to applicants with or without vehicle-repair experience, and U-Haul may sponsor D.O.T. certification if required. The work may involve moderate risks or discomforts, including working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or chemicals, and may require protective gear. Physical demands include extended periods indoors and outdoors, remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to use tools, and moving at least 50 pounds, assisted or unassisted.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to use mobile transfer programs.
- D.O.T. certification if required; U-Haul can sponsor it.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Complete receipt and intake paperwork electronically.
- Transport U-Haul equipment between U-Haul centers, dealerships, and the repair shop.
- Perform visual inspections of equipment.
- Maintain a driver log.
- Willingly assist in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of the supervisor.
