About The Position

U-Haul is seeking a Trailer and SRI Repair Specialist to maintain trailers and Ford and GMC trucks in its fleet. The specialist uses U-Haul proprietary technology to assess and care for field vehicles and works with a team to keep equipment in top condition. U-Haul provides tools, on-the-job training, and access to a Technician Training Program that includes Ford, GM, and U-Haul classes. The position is located at 2801 Kenmore Ave, Tonawanda, New York. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. Compensation is $19.00 to $25.00 per hour. The hiring process may include a paid hands-on working interview, and the posting offers a $100 hiring bonus.

Requirements

Basic mechanical aptitude.
Driver’s license.
Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
Basic computer skills.
Regular attendance.

Nice To Haves

One to two years of repair experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Secure trailers on lifts and dollies.
Perform tire and brake maintenance.
Rebuild and repair braking systems and trailer components.
Dismount, balance, and mount tires.
Occasionally road-test vehicles.
Work on a production line.
Use proprietary electronic pre-inspection and repair checklists.
Provide assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the supervisor’s directives and guidance.
