Trailer Mechanic-Mobile Service Truck
About The Position
RSS Mobile Trailer Repair is hiring a Trailer Mechanic for an outdoor, mobile service truck position in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. The role involves inspecting, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing components on semi-trailers, along with performing preventative maintenance. The successful candidate is experienced in trailer or diesel mechanics, self-motivated, safety-minded, and able to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers. The schedule is Monday through Friday during the day, with overtime after 40 hours. Pay is $25–$32 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Requirements
- Experience as a Trailer Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic.
- Strong understanding of semi-trailer diagnostics and repair.
- Self-motivated and safety-minded, with effective communication skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and diagnose all trailer systems.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective components.
- Perform preventative maintenance on trailers and parts, including ABS, frames, bodies, doors, tires, and electrical systems.
- Provide top-notch service as an independently motivated professional.
- Maintain positive working relationships with customers.
- Properly operate the mobile service truck.
- Follow safety requirements while servicing trailers and driving the service truck.
