About The Position

As a Protector, you work with a team at job sites to help manage traffic and maintain safety. No experience or degree is needed; training and support are provided. The work is outdoors throughout the year and may take place in changing weather. Shifts may change based on job needs, and some nights, weekends, or emergency work may be required. Employees may stand or walk for 8 to 12 hours per shift. The company provides a hard hat, safety goggles, safety vest, safety whistle, walkie-talkie, and cold- and hot-weather gear. Employees must provide their own steel-toe safety boots that go above the ankle. Pay is $18.36–$20.07 per hour, with overtime available and pay increases during the first year. Paid training and a traffic safety certificate are provided. Benefits for eligible employees include on-demand pay availability; details of PTO and benefits are provided by the Union.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Flexible schedule and punctual attendance for every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow all safety rules at all times.
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.
• Must provide steel-toe safety boots that go above the ankle.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs, and barricades, and take traffic control equipment down.
• Use a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic while watching traffic and job-site activity.
• Follow all safety rules taught in training.
• Communicate with the crew and supervisor.
• Help keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Work outdoors throughout the year in all weather.
