About The Position

As a Protector, you work with a team at job sites to help manage traffic safely. No experience or degree is needed; training and support are provided. The role involves working outdoors year-round in all weather, with shifts that may change based on job needs. Some night, weekend, or emergency work may be required. You may stand or walk for 8 to 12 hours per shift. The employer provides a hard hat, safety goggles, safety vest, safety whistle, walkie-talkie, and hot- and cold-weather gear. Employees must provide their own steel-toe safety boots that go above the ankle.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license.
Ability to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
Ability to lift 40–50 pounds.
Willingness to work in traffic and changing weather.
Flexible schedule and punctual attendance for every shift.
Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test, because this is a safety-sensitive job.
Ability to stay alert around moving traffic and follow safety rules at all times.
Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.
Steel-toe safety boots that go above the ankle; these are not provided by the employer.

Responsibilities

Set up and take down cones, signs, barricades, and other traffic-control equipment.
Use a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and watch traffic and job-site activity.
Follow all safety rules taught in training.
Communicate with the crew and supervisor.
Help keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
