About The Position

This is a new Regular Part-Time Professor position for the Winter 2027 academic period at the University of Ottawa's Common Law Section. The role involves teaching the CML11072 C00 - Torts (Part 1 of 2) course. The course covers liability for interference with interests in personality, property, reputation, economic and domestic relationships; intentional interference and privileged conduct; negligence; products liability; strict liability; nuisance; misrepresentation; vicarious liability; and an introduction to the basics of legal research and legal writing. The course is 2.5 credits, requires 32.5 work hours, and will be taught in English on Mondays from 1:00 PM to 2:50 PM.

Requirements

  • Candidates must also apply for CML11071 (Torts Part 1 of 2) in Fall 2026
  • Be leaders in the legal profession
  • An LL.B., J.D., or equivalent
  • Membership in the Law Society of Ontario, or equivalent, in good standing
  • Passive competence in a second language (French)
