About The Position

The University of Ottawa's Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Psychology is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach PSY3108 C00 - Perception during the Winter 2027 semester. This course explores the nature of perceptual phenomena, principles of perception, and its psychological, physiological, and philosophical aspects. It includes laboratory activities and covers current research in perception. The course is offered in English and is scheduled for Tuesdays from 13:00-14:30 and Thursdays from 11:30-13:00, with a lab session on Thursdays from 10:00-11:30. This position is limited to a Regular Part-Time Professor. Requirements

Ph.D. in Psychology with a thesis in Perception or Cognition.
Competence in a second language (passive).
Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
Ability to maintain the original assigned mode of course delivery (in-person or virtual).

Responsibilities

Teach the Perception course (PSY3108 C00) including laboratory activities.
Maintain the originally assigned mode of course delivery (in-person or virtual).
Inform the School of Psychology Secretariat promptly if a class needs to be cancelled.
Arrange for a suitable replacement instructor in advance of any planned absence.
