About The Position
The School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Student Part-Time Professor to teach PSY3122, Human Sexualities, during the Winter 2027 semester. This course explores fundamental aspects of human sexualities from a biopsychosocial perspective, including current social trends and research. The course is offered in person and is scheduled for Wednesdays from 13:00 to 14:30 and Fridays from 11:30 to 13:00. The expected enrollment is 147 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The hourly rate for teaching is $239.47 (2024-2025 rates), which does not include vacation or statutory pay. These rates will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactivity paid after ratification. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Psychology or Master's degree with advanced knowledge in human sexual behaviour.
- Competence in a second language (passive).
- Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
- Ability to maintain the original assigned mode of course delivery (in-person).

Responsibilities

- Maintain the originally assigned mode of course delivery (in-person).
- Inform the School of Psychology Secretariat promptly if a class needs to be canceled.
- Arrange a suitable replacement instructor in advance of any known absence.
