About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Timekeeper to support workforce administration and labor reporting activities at a military cargo port facility. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate collection, verification, and processing of employee time and attendance records for personnel engaged in vessel operations, cargo handling, equipment operations, warehousing, and terminal support activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, experience working with timekeeping and payroll systems, and the ability to maintain accurate records in a fast-paced operational environment. Experience supporting unionized labor, maritime operations, military installations, or transportation and logistics organizations is highly desirable. This position requires a high degree of accuracy, professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to coordinate effectively with supervisors, employees, payroll personnel, and government representatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in timekeeping, payroll administration, workforce administration, or related clerical functions.
  • Experience maintaining detailed records and performing data entry with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain installation access credentials and security requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting maritime, port, transportation, logistics, warehouse, or military operations.
  • Experience working with unionized labor workforces and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems, workforce management software, or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Knowledge of labor reporting, payroll processes, and workforce scheduling.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Government or Department of Defense contracts.
  • Familiarity with cargo terminal, stevedoring, or military logistics operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report generation.
  • Capable of working under pressure during periods of increased operational activity.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate daily records of employee work hours, shift assignments, overtime, leave, and labor distribution.
  • Collect, review, verify, and process employee timesheets, labor reports, and attendance records.
  • Ensure timekeeping records comply with company policies, labor agreements, contract requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate with supervisors to resolve discrepancies involving work hours, overtime, shift differentials, leave balances, and labor coding.
  • Track labor utilization across cargo operations, vessel loading and discharge activities, warehouse operations, and support functions.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly labor reports for management review.
  • Support payroll processing by ensuring timely and accurate submission of workforce data.
  • Maintain records of employee absences, leave requests, training attendance, and special work assignments.
  • Assist with workforce scheduling and labor allocation reporting as directed.
  • Support audits and inspections by maintaining organized and accurate timekeeping documentation.
  • Generate reports related to labor costs, workforce utilization, overtime trends, and staffing metrics.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and payroll-related records.
  • Utilize computerized timekeeping, payroll, and workforce management systems.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources, Payroll, Operations Management, and Government representatives as required.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to draw upon the employee's knowledge, skills, and expertise to support contract, operational, and organizational requirements.
