About The Position

Herzog Transit Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Ticket Agent for the New Mexico Rail Runner in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Ticket Agent provides customer service to passengers, supports ticket sales and fare reconciliation, makes onboard announcements, assists with schedules and service disruptions, and may help with special-event or interruption-related busing. The position also includes operating a company vehicle to transport crews and keeping the passenger environment clear of used newspapers, litter, and debris. The role requires regular and predictable attendance and punctuality, and consistent participation in and promotion of Herzog’s culture and essential behaviors. It is an entry-level position; no experience is necessary. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license. Familiarity with the New Mexico Rail Runner Express and the local area is preferred. Employment is subject to background and motor vehicle report checks, a pre-employment physical and medical evaluation, and drug screening because the position is safety-sensitive. The employee must maintain a valid driver’s license and any required endorsements, and successfully complete and maintain required annual safety certification and testing. The work can be physically demanding and may take place outdoors in all weather conditions, around loud noise and moving passenger cars, and involves frequent standing and walking and occasional lifting, stooping, or bending. Required color/vision and hearing abilities must be demonstrated. Herzog offers a benefits package that includes medical and dental coverage; plans are specific to projects and locations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license; maintain any required endorsements.
Successfully complete and maintain required safety certification and testing annually.
Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen.
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, humidity, and rain.
Frequent standing for extended periods and frequent walking throughout the work shift.
Able to work in loud conditions and around heavy or moving passenger cars.
Occasional lifting, stooping, or bending.
Must pass color/vision examinations and be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

Provide an excellent customer experience.

Reconcile daily train fare ticket sales.
Pick up and discard used newspapers, litter, and debris.
