About The Position

Urban Health Plan is seeking a bilingual English/Spanish Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to provide behavioral health services at its El Nuevo San Juan Community Health Center in the Bronx. The Behavioral Health Division provides individual therapy and outpatient psychiatry support to children and adults. The therapist uses evidence-based approaches to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health and emotional disorders, while supporting patients’ well-being and access to resources. Clinical supervision is provided to support the clinician in acquiring hours toward an LCSW. The role begins onsite for training and to build patient rapport. After 2–3 months, the possibility of hybrid work with remote days may be reassessed for established patients who could benefit from virtual therapy. The schedule is five days per week, with a 9 a.m.–6 p.m. or 10 a.m.–7 p.m. shift. Compensation ranges from $72,000 to $80,000 per year.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
New York State LMSW license.
Two years of experience providing therapy.
Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
Ability to identify high-risk psychosocial factors in patients and families that affect health status.

Responsibilities

Provide biopsychosocial and clinical diagnostic assessments.
Conduct individual psychotherapy and counseling services.
Maintain clinical theory and practice knowledge to help patients overcome dependencies, adjust to life, and make changes.
Counsel family members to help them understand and support patients.
Provide crisis intervention when needed and refer patients or family members to community resources.
Consult with medical providers.
Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement treatment and intervention programs.
Participate in clinical team meetings.
