About The Position

The Service Assistant supports bar operations at The Newbury Boston by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and proper stock behind the bar and helping deliver a best-in-class guest experience. The role assists bar staff in keeping work areas organized to support an efficient flow of service throughout the shift. Duties include handling bar requisitions and supplies, completing opening and closing tasks, assisting guests, and operating and maintaining bar equipment. The position requires evening-shift availability.

Requirements

• One year of previous experience in a similar role.
• Adequate communication skills to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
• Patience when dealing with guests.
• Evening-shift availability.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Request, pick, verify, and put away requisitions for liquor, wine, beer, juices, soft drinks, and food items used in the bar areas.
• Stock bar areas with liquor, wine, beer, juices, soft drinks, glassware, and condiments.
• Develop a complete working knowledge of all products served by the bar.
• Ensure all side opening and closing duties are completed.
• Respond positively to guest problems and issues to help ensure guest satisfaction.
• Follow sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies and regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
• Attend to customer needs with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Operate and maintain bar equipment and tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
