About The Position

The Bar Porter is responsible for cleaning and maintaining food and beverage wares, kitchens, and service areas in support of Food & Beverage goals and operating standards. The role helps create an inviting guest experience at Hard Rock Casino Rockford and supports guest relations and team members in providing superior service. Duties include maintaining service-area setups, replenishing and replacing liquor bottles, collecting glassware and resetting chairs on the casino floor, helping fulfill portable-bar orders, opening beverages during peak periods, keeping beverage supplies available, and maintaining a clean, odor-free bar. The position requires adherence to company and departmental policies, safety and sanitation standards, and uniform guidelines. The employee may also perform other related duties or reasonable requests from beverage management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.
• Must obtain and maintain licenses and certifications required by federal, state, and Illinois Gaming Commission rules.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must be able to work nights, holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, balance, or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, frequently throughout the shift.
• Must be able to walk for 100% of the shift and move throughout the business, including standing, walking, kneeling, and bending for extended periods.
• Must be able to withstand noisy environments.
• Excellent multitasking and prioritizing skills.
• Excellent customer service and hospitality skills.
• Present an enthusiastic, outgoing, and professional appearance; maintain a well-groomed appearance.
• Communicate effectively with employees at all levels and with guests.
• Be flexible to work varying shifts and schedules as needed.

Responsibilities

• Help create an atmosphere that encourages guests to choose Hard Rock Casino Rockford for gaming entertainment.
• Build and retain guest relations and mentor team members in providing superior guest service.
• Maintain service-area setups, including opening, removing, and replacing liquor bottles in a timely manner.
• Keep the casino floor clean and organized by collecting glassware and resetting chairs.
• Assist with fulfilling beer, seltzer, and alcohol orders at the portable bar.
• Assist in opening beverages during peak times to support prompt service.
• Ensure beverage supplies are available during service.
• Keep the bar clean and odor-free.
• Follow company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Attend seminars when needed.
• Perform reasonable requests from beverage management and other related duties assigned.
• Follow safety and sanitation standards and uniform guidelines.
