About The Position

The Casino Porter performs a wide range of heavy cleaning tasks to maintain a clean and presentable environment throughout the casino facility, including offices. The role provides attentive, cheerful, courteous, and professional customer service to internal and external customers, striving to exceed their expectations. The position also involves cleaning after functions and, as directed, cleaning campground shower houses, rental cabins, and Bingo Halls at specified locations. Other job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
No experience required.
Must be able to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
Must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to work extended hours when needed.
Must be able to perform basic math.
Must be able to work under pressure.
Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisory personnel, coworkers, and the general public.
Native American preferred.
Physical position classified as medium, with lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to meet the stated physical demands, working conditions, and hazard exposures of the position.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge and understanding of how to operate and use equipment of the trade.
Knowledge and understanding of chemicals and how to use chemicals of the trade.
Native American preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain, stock, and sanitize washrooms.
Clean around slot machines, including wiping ashtrays, removing cups, bottles, and cans, and wiping fingerprints and dust from machine tops.
Sweep and mop hard-surface floors; monitor and vacuum carpeted floors.
Use commercial equipment to scrub hard-surface floors and extract carpeted floors and gaming tables.
Strip and finish (wax) floors.
Dust low and high surfaces throughout the Kewadin complex and offices.
Clean entryway glass.
Remove trash and clean trash cans.
Clean gaming table areas and sweep and mop stairwells.
Check cleaning equipment before and after use for maintenance needs.
Push in and clean chairs around gaming tables and slot machines.
Keep carts and storage areas clean and organized.
Report maintenance needs to the supervisor.
Clean up after functions such as weddings, conventions, and concerts.
Clean the campground shower house at the Sault location.
Clean rental cabins as directed at the Hessel location.
Clean Bingo Halls at the Sault and St. Ignace locations.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Provide courteous and professional service to internal and external customers.
