About The Position

The Cincinnati Art Museum is hiring part-time seasonal Café Servers for its Terrace Café. Servers provide exceptional guest experiences by keeping tables clean and orderly, welcoming guests, presenting menus, helping guests choose food and beverages, and serving orders. They are expected to assist guests promptly and positively. The café is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with select Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from November 18 through January 8 open until 9 p.m. The position reports to the Café Manager.

Requirements

• Proven customer service and restaurant server experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Weekend availability.
• Cash handling and point-of-sale experience.
• Attention to cleanliness and safety.
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with groups of diverse backgrounds.
• Dependability and organization.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Toast point-of-sale system.

Responsibilities

• Prepare café tables, with special attention to sanitation and order.
• Attend to customers upon entrance.
• Present menus and help customers select food and beverages.
• Take and serve orders.
• Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary products.
• Collaborate with other servers and kitchen staff.
• Assist with and handle guest issues professionally.
• Issue bills and accept payment.
• Answer phone calls and make reservations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
