About The Position

The Teller provides quality member service by accepting and accurately processing counter transactions and meeting established referral goals for Credit Union products. The role includes completing transactions with accuracy, timeliness, courtesy, confidentiality, and professionalism; meeting sales referral goals assigned by the Branch Manager; and opening and closing branches. Additional duties include general account maintenance, maintaining and balancing a cash drawer, operating a cash dispense machine, buying and selling cash to the vault, and verifying and organizing cash. This branch-float position requires travel to branches within the region.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Sales or referral experience with proven results.
• Honesty and integrity.
• Basic math knowledge.
• Working knowledge of a ten-key calculator, computer keyboard, and programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and the Internet.
• Ability to interact with members positively and professionally and to provide quality customer service.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of people and engage members in conversations to increase product penetration.
• Self-motivation and demonstrated referral skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to analyze member accounts, understand banking regulations and Credit Union systems and procedures, work under pressure, solve problems, and concentrate in a multitasking environment.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and professional image and to empathize with members.
• Ability to stand for long periods, move throughout the Credit Union, use manual dexterity when handling cash and Branch Services equipment, and lift coin bags weighing up to 50 pounds.

• At least one year of cash-handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete members’ transactions at the teller window accurately, promptly, courteously, confidentially, and professionally.
• Meet established sales referral goals assigned by the Branch Manager.
• Open and close the branch and perform general account maintenance.
• Maintain and balance the cash drawer.
• Operate the cash dispense machine.
• Buy and sell cash to the vault, verify cash, and keep cash organized.
