About The Position

Sacramento Credit Union is seeking candidates who enjoy being of service to customers, possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to cross-sell products and services for our Financial Service Specialist II (Teller II) position at our Arden branch. Individuals who derive satisfaction and accomplishment from assisting others would be successful in our environment. All Tellers have a fixed schedule so it’s perfect for individuals wanting a work/life balance. The 37/40-hour schedule is as follows: Monday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm Tuesday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm Wednesday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm (OFF when schedule to work Saturday) Thursday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm Friday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm or 9:30 am - 6:30 pm (Rotating) Saturday 9:30 am - 2:30 pm (OFF when schedule to work Wednesday) Sunday Off

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. and related work experience
  • One to three years’ teller experience in a credit union or bank.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of credit union products and services, policies, procedures, laws, and regulations desired.
  • Demonstrated consistent ability to cross-sell credit union products and services and meet minimum expectations on referral goals.
  • Ability to analyze member account history and mitigate loss when placing holds and approvals.
  • Ability to provide guidance and work direction to FSS Is, and train newly hired FSS Is.
  • Ability to perform audit processes and maintain records (ATM and TCR)
  • Ability to operate ten key and other office equipment, such as printers and copy machine.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complicated member issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, and maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all the duties and functions of a Financial Service Specialist I (Teller I).
  • Demonstrates the ability to cross-sell credit union products and services.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds referral goals as assigned.
  • Assists on the platform to open new accounts (Personal, Trust, and Specialty) and adding/removing joint account holders.
  • Onboards new members in Synapsys and conducts follow up via phone/email to ensure members’ needs have been addressed.
  • Refers new members to FSS III for additional cross sale opportunities.
  • Open IRAs and complete IRA maintenance such as withdrawals, rollovers, and transfers.
  • Able to process deceased account closures and Member Account Transfers.
  • Assists with auditing New Accounts packets and daily branch work.
  • Can open and/or close the branch and activate/deactivate the alarm, as needed.
  • Enroll members in online and mobile banking.
  • Identifies and reports fraudulent activity to management in accordance with current procedures to prevent potential loss to the credit union.
  • Maintain knowledge and adhere to all SCU’s policies and procedures, rules, and regulations for the FSS area, including robbery, Bank Secrecy Act and Money Laundering policies and procedures.
  • Assist at other branches, as needed.
  • Participates in community and business development events to increase brand awareness and drive new business.
  • Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all members and co-workers.
  • Adheres to SCU’s Dress Guidelines.
  • Maintains good attendance record.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
