About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Phoenix is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. The Telemetry Technician supports patient care by continuously monitoring assigned cardiac monitors, identifying rhythms and artifacts, maintaining monitor alarms, and responding promptly and appropriately to alarms. The role completes EKG interpretations, with strip interpretations validated by an RN. The position is full-time, scheduled 7:00–7:00, and pays $20.90–$26.50 per hour. Requirements

Complete and pass the EKG class for Monitor Technicians and required competencies on the education platform within 30 days of starting in the position.
Pass other tests and competencies as required by Select Medical.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred background as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Paramedic, or RN nursing student with EKG training. LPNs are limited to working as telemetry technicians only.

Responsibilities

Continuously observe all assigned monitors and promptly and appropriately respond to alarms.
Verify correct identification of basic rhythms, lethal rhythms, and artifact.
Maintain EKG monitor alarms and respond to all alarms as needed.
Complete EKG interpretations, including rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, waveform alterations, and rhythm interpretation.
Ensure strip interpretations are validated by an RN.
