About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Telemetry Technicians contribute to compassionate, excellent patient care by continuously monitoring assigned patients and ensuring alarms receive appropriate, timely responses. The role includes interpreting EKG strips and ensuring interpretations are validated by an RN. The position is full-time, on day shifts with 12-hour shifts, at Select Specialty Hospital - Daytona Beach. Requirements

Complete and pass the EKG class for Monitor Technicians and required competencies on the education platform within 30 days of starting in the position.
Pass other tests and competencies as required by Select Medical.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred background as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Paramedic, or RN nursing student with EKG training. LPNs are limited to working as telemetry technicians only.

Responsibilities

Continuously watch assigned monitors and ensure appropriate and timely responses to alarms.
Verify identification of basic rhythms, lethal rhythms, and artifact.
Maintain EKG monitor alarms and respond to alarms as needed.
Continuously observe all assigned monitors and respond promptly and appropriately to alarms.
Complete EKG interpretations, including rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, waveform alterations, and rhythm interpretation.
Ensure strip interpretations are validated by an RN.
