About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Telemetry Technicians help support patient care by continuously monitoring assigned patients’ cardiac rhythms and responding to alarms. This is a full-time, day-shift position in Omaha, with 12-hour shifts from 7 to 7. Compensation is $21.51 to $26.22 per hour, based on years of experience. Requirements

Complete and pass the EKG class for Monitor Technicians and required competencies on the education platform within 30 days of the position start date.
Pass other tests and competencies as required by Select Medical.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Background as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), licensed paramedic, or RN nursing student with EKG training. LPNs are limited to working as telemetry technicians only.

Responsibilities

Continuously monitor assigned patient monitors and ensure appropriate, timely responses to alarms.
Verify identification of basic rhythms, lethal rhythms, and artifacts.
Maintain EKG monitor alarms and respond to alarms as needed.
Complete EKG interpretations, including rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, waveform alterations, and rhythm interpretation.
Ensure strip interpretations are validated by an RN.
