The TeensWork Alachua Summer Youth Employment (TWA) provides high school students work-related experiences that prepare them to succeed in employment. TWA aims to strengthen Alachua County’s workforce and help young people gain the support, educational credentials, and skills needed in today’s and in the future economy. Work sessions are held for 6 weeks in the summer. Objectives of the program are for students to gain employment, develop social skills, learn work norms and culture, understand career pathways, build professional networks and learn to manage money. The TWA Job Coach is responsible for the supervision of approximately 25-30 students.
