About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on rental equipment in a safe and effective manner to avoid downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty locations may also include large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of equipment makes and models, build skills for a career track in service or operations management, and work with a safety-focused team. The position may require providing mechanic’s tools of the trade. Physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required. Reasonable accommodations may be made in accordance with applicable laws.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training desired.
- Three to five years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment, heavy equipment, or specialty-lines equipment is strongly preferred.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs.
