About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment safely and effectively to minimize downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty-line locations may also maintain large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas equipment. The position offers work on a variety of equipment makes and models, opportunities to develop skills for a career track in service or operations management, and work with a safety-focused team. Sunbelt Rentals provides on-the-job training for eligible employees. The role may require the employee to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade. Physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting skills.
Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) may be required based on location needs.
Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors when required.

Nice To Haves

Some trade school or equivalent training desired.
Three to five years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment, heavy equipment, or specialty-line equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment is strongly preferred.
