About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment safely and effectively to avoid downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty-lines locations may include large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role may require providing mechanic’s tools of the trade and involves working indoors or outdoors as required. The position is physically demanding and requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 pounds or more. Reasonable accommodations may be made in accordance with applicable laws.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting skills.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.

Nice To Haves

• Some trade school or equivalent training desired.
• Three to five years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment, heavy equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment is strongly preferred.
• Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs.
