About The Position

McDonald Mazda South is seeking an automotive Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles in a clean, modern, fully equipped service center. The position is paid based on flagged hours, with average compensation of $30–$45 per flat-rate hour and potential performance-based bonuses, overtime pay, and incentives. The role involves working with diagnostic equipment and a range of shop systems, explaining diagnoses and required repairs to customers, and contributing to a team-oriented, customer-focused service operation. Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• 1–3 years of automotive technician experience.
• Ability to drive and handle vehicles of various makes, models, and sizes.
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Team-oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Working knowledge of shop equipment, including wheel and tire equipment, electrical systems, engine equipment, alignment systems, diagnostic equipment, and air-conditioning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicles to specifications using infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, computerized diagnostic devices, and other equipment.
• Tear down, repair, replace, and rebuild faulty assemblies, including power systems, steering systems, linkages, pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
• Rewire ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels, and repair manual and automatic transmissions.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to people without mechanical expertise.
