About The Position

Technician B performs a broad range of automotive maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics, including brakes, rotors, fluid exchanges, oil changes, transmission and differential work, cooling-system maintenance, tire repair and replacement, and additional services such as wiper blades and air filters. The role requires average mechanical knowledge and includes communicating with customers about necessary preventive maintenance. Technicians are paid an hourly rate plus a commission percentage standard across the company. The technician completes repair-order work efficiently and accurately under supervisory direction and factory standards. They handle more complex repairs and diagnostics than a Tech C, including electrical systems and minor engine work, work independently on most tasks, may begin training Tech C technicians, and assist Tech A technicians with complex repairs and diagnoses. Additional work includes diagnosing customer-reported vehicle problems, inspecting vehicles for safety or service needs, documenting work performed and recommended, and road testing vehicles as needed. The role also involves keeping customer vehicles and shop areas clean and organized; maintaining and accounting for store-owned tools and manuals; following applicable regulations, safety rules, and company procedures; and participating in company-sponsored training. Candidates need the tools required to perform most services they are qualified for, including a toolbox kept on site, and must sign the company uniform policy and procedure plan.
