2027 Technical Sales Intern - Equipment

Trane Italia•New York, NY
•$26 - $37•Onsite

About The Position

Trane Technologies is hiring Technical Sales Interns for a 12-week summer internship program focused on commercial, industrial, and institutional HVAC equipment and building management controls. Interns will develop technical, business, sales engineering, leadership, and communication skills while gaining exposure to the company’s Service, Equipment, Building Automation, Application, and Fulfillment businesses. The internship provides experience that can support a future career in Technical Sales and may create an opportunity to join Trane Technologies’ Graduate Training Program after graduation. Interns work with Sales Account Managers and customers to learn about the design, application, and sale of systems, controls, parts, and services for buildings. The program includes participation in sales meetings, business functions, sales and service calls, and customer meetings alongside experienced account managers and mentors. Interns gain hands-on exposure to the steps sales engineers take throughout a job and serve as a daily customer point of contact in the solution-making process. The position is listed as on-site five days per week, although the posting notes that some of the multiple opportunities may be remote, hybrid, or on-site at facilities across North America. Travel is less than 15% within a defined geography. Compensation is hourly, with a stated base pay range of $26.04 to $37.20. The posting identifies the role as an internship; it also contains conflicting safety-sensitive statements, saying both that the role is designated Safety Sensitive and that it is not.
