Technical Product Manager - Payments

Felix Technologies, Inc.•Miami, FL
•$145,000 - $185,000•Remote

About The Position

Félix is seeking a hands-on, technically fluent Product Manager to lead the development and scaling of its next-generation payments platform. The platform supports money movement from payment funding through settlement with banking partners and powers multiple Félix products. The role combines technical depth, platform-level strategy, and a bias for action, with a focus on improving conversion, authorization rates, reliability, and unit economics. The position owns the payment orchestration layer and its ecosystem, including processors, banking and settlement partners, tokenization, and reconciliation. The Product Manager will work closely with Engineering to build real-time systems and will be accountable for business metrics such as authorization rate, processing cost, and GMV. Félix describes the role as suited to a builder who takes ownership in a high-growth, ambiguous environment.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of product management experience, focused on payments, ideally in a fast-paced startup or growth environment as a primary builder.
  • Technical fluency and resourcefulness, including experience working with engineering teams on API-based payment solutions, ability to run simple SQL queries, and understanding of data pipelines and system resilience, such as timeouts, fallbacks, and service dependencies.
  • Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem—including orchestration, processors and PSPs, acquiring and banking partners, card networks, authorization and settlement flows, tokenization, and reconciliation—or a track record of rapidly acquiring deep domain knowledge in a new technical area.
  • Experience owning payment performance metrics such as authorization rate, conversion, processing cost, and GMV, and using them to drive product improvements.
  • Experience working with payment processors and orchestration.
  • Strong ownership and bias toward action, with comfort working hands-on rather than delegating.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, especially with Fraud, Finance, Compliance, executive teams, and external partners.
  • Passion for fintech and digital finance innovation.
  • Equivalent competencies in the listed areas may also be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with alternative payment rails such as ACH, BNPL, wallets, and stablecoins.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the payments product roadmap with Product and Engineering leadership, unifying processors, banking partners, and payment methods into a scalable orchestration platform for pay-ins, routing, and settlement.
  • Drive the evolution of the in-house payment orchestrator and rules engine, including intelligent processor routing, fallback and resilience logic, and balancing authorization rates, transaction costs, and reliability.
  • Own reconciliation and settlement health across processors and banking partners, working toward automation.
  • Analyze payment metrics and dashboards, run simple to medium-complexity SQL queries to validate hypotheses, and partner with Data Analysts and Engineers to improve conversion, acceptance, and authorization.
  • Partner with Engineering to design, build, and launch payment methods and integrations across cards, wallets, ACH, cash, processors, and settlement banks.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, and Operations on scalable solutions involving reconciliation, treasury, revenue recognition, payment operations, and disputes.
  • Partner with Fraud to monitor fraud performance by payment method and provide data for fraud checkpoints.
  • Coordinate with Business Development on processor and banking partner negotiations.
  • Communicate payments strategy and impact to executive leadership and manage relationships with processors, acquiring and banking partners, and card networks.
