Technical Product Manager - Payments

Felix Technologies•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

Félix is seeking a highly hands-on, technical Product Manager to lead the development and scaling of its next-generation payments platform. The platform supports money movement from customer funding through settlement with banking partners and powers multiple Félix products. The role combines technical depth and platform-level strategy with a resourceful, action-oriented approach, while improving conversion, authorization rates, and unit economics. The Product Manager will own the payment orchestration layer and its ecosystem, including processors, banking and settlement partners, tokenization, and reconciliation. This is a hands-on builder role working closely with Engineering on real-time systems and owning business metrics such as authorization rate, processing cost, and GMV. The role operates in a high-growth, ambiguous environment and requires strong ownership. Responsibilities include developing the payments roadmap; evolving the in-house orchestrator and routing rules; improving reconciliation and settlement automation; analyzing payment data and running experiments; launching payment methods and integrations; and collaborating with Engineering, Finance, Operations, Fraud, Business Development, executives, and external payment and banking partners.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of product management experience focused on payments, ideally in a fast-paced startup or growth environment as a primary builder.
  • Technical fluency and resourcefulness, including experience working with engineering teams on API-based payment solutions.
  • Ability to run simple SQL queries and a clear understanding of data pipelines and system resilience, including timeouts, fallbacks, and service dependencies.
  • Deep understanding of payment orchestration, processors and PSPs, acquiring and banking partners, card networks, authorization and settlement flows, tokenization, and reconciliation, or a track record of rapidly acquiring deep domain knowledge in a new technical area.
  • Experience owning payment performance metrics such as authorization rate, conversion, processing cost, and GMV and using them to drive product improvements.
  • Experience working with payment processors and orchestration.
  • Strong ownership and bias toward action, with comfort working hands-on rather than delegating.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, especially with Fraud, Finance, Compliance, executive teams, and external partners.
  • Passion for fintech and digital finance innovation.
  • Equivalent competencies in the listed areas will also be considered.
