Technical Content Lead

Normal Computing Corporation•New York City, NY

About The Position

Normal Computing is hiring a senior individual contributor to explain the science and engineering behind Normal Inference Systems and its frontier applied AI research program, which develops AI methods for silicon design and verification. The role establishes language for an unfamiliar architecture and makes its performance and applications understandable to technical and commercial audiences. The Technical Content Lead works directly with scientists, researchers, and engineers, reads underlying papers and results, and owns original technical writing and editorial partnership with technical experts. The role also serves as the Communications and Marketing team's subject-matter expert on technical content, progress, and the hardware roadmap. It reports to the Head of Communications and is embedded with Engineering. The role contributes to website content, explainer videos, technical design assets, customer evaluation materials, and other projects prioritized with the Head of Communications. It collaborates with colleagues across editorial, product marketing, media relations, brand design, and social production. Travel may be required for team collaboration, lab work, customer evaluations, and relevant industry events.

Requirements

  • Ability to engage in substantive discussions with technical leads and develop original writing from primary sources.
  • Ability to build sufficient depth in areas such as AI inference, computer architecture, semiconductors, or computational physics to write credibly and precisely.
  • Ability to learn challenging material quickly from primary sources and expert conversations, and to identify gaps in one's knowledge.
  • Ability to read research papers, question benchmarks, explain mechanisms in one's own words, assess assumptions and valid comparisons, and identify when further measurement is needed.
  • Comfort with benchmark data, plots, and technical diagrams, and with code or notebooks when they are part of the underlying work.
  • Ability to write for domain experts and adapt the same substance clearly and precisely for customers or executives, considering visual explanations alongside prose.
  • Ability to earn the trust of researchers and engineers and collaborate across teams while contributing independent thinking.
  • Ability to share work early, invite contributions, and help colleagues strengthen and amplify their content.
  • Ability to turn developments into publishable work quickly, manage expert reviews, meet a regular publishing cadence, and protect technical accuracy.
  • Willingness to travel for team collaboration, lab work, customer evaluations, and relevant industry events.

  • Work with Engineering to interpret benchmarks and results, develop useful comparisons, and explain Normal Inference Systems' performance to technical and commercial audiences.
  • Develop the technical substance of evaluation materials, decks, briefs, and FAQs with colleagues leading product marketing and customer work.
  • Explain system capabilities, integration requirements, and workload economics to help customers evaluate the product.
  • Turn recurring customer questions into searchable technical explanations, connect answers to relevant research and evaluation materials, and keep them current as systems and capabilities change.
  • Develop diagrams, plots, and, where useful, reproducible examples or notebooks with internal experts and external collaborators to support understanding and verification of technical claims.
  • Join relevant research, product, and customer discussions; use lab sessions, roadshows, and account feedback to improve materials and identify stories.
