About The Position
Emler Swim and Gymnastic Schools is hiring a part-time Team Lead in Manasquan, New Jersey. Also described as a Deck Manager / Team Manager, this leadership role supports swim-school operations and helps create a safe, welcoming environment for children, families, and staff. The company provides training, including training to become a certified swim professional and safety expert, and offers opportunities to develop leadership, coaching, communication, operations, and customer-service skills. The position involves leading and supporting hourly staff, coaching swim instructors, assisting with class operations and customer care, and helping with scheduling, evaluations, and enrollment goals. The role requires a consistent schedule that includes weekday afternoons or evenings and weekends. It is physically active and involves being on your feet and in the water. Pay is $19.50–$23.50 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and certifications, with opportunities for pay increases as skills and performance develop.

Responsibilities
- Lead the team on deck and in the pool; supervise, support, and train hourly staff to ensure smooth class operations.
- Coach instructors and serve as a lead instructor, mentoring swim teachers to deliver safe, engaging, high-quality lessons.
- Observe and encourage students’ progress in the pool across age groups.
- Support families and help ensure customers feel confident and cared for.
- Assist with scheduling, performance evaluations, and enrollment goals.
- Model and enforce safety standards for staff and students.
- Participate in weekly leadership meetings with site managers to develop business insights and leadership skills.
