About The Position

Finance oversees the accounting, tax, financial plans and policies of the organization, establishes and maintains fiscal controls, prepares and interprets financial reports, oversees financial systems and safeguards the organization's assets. Collections is responsible for the collection of outstanding accounts receivable. This includes dispute research, developing payment plans with customers, and building relationships of trust with customers and internal business partners. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferred in business administration, healthcare or related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of experience in accounts receivable, with at least 1–2 years in a team lead role preferred
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care preferred
  • Strong knowledge of AR processes and billing systems preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel preferred
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to resolve customer issues calmly and professionally with diplomacy and tact
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience in Accounts Receivables (IPA’s and Medi-Cal)
  • Familiarity with credit analysis and risk assessment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in technical or specialty area
  • Ability to apply knowledge beyond own areas of expertise

  • Preferred experience with GE Centricity.
  • Preferred experience in Oncology billing.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with daily operations of the accounts receivable team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of claims, including denials and the maximization of cash flow.
  • Optimizes AR processes and supports the organization’s financial health through effective management of outstanding receivables.
  • Monitors aging reports and follows up on past-due accounts to improve cash flow.
  • Coordinates with billing team to ensure insurance claims are accurate and sent timely.
  • Assists with training of new AR representatives.
  • Develops and implements strategies to increase revenue.
  • Analyzes AR metrics, DSO (days sales outstanding), and other KPIs.
  • Supports internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
  • Audits weekly team member accounts for accuracy and training opportunities within team.
  • Recommends and implements process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in AR operations.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Researches resolution for LCD/NCD and payer policy denials.
  • Identifies root causes and recommends corrective action.
  • Handles other duties and projects assigned.
  • Takes the lead in effectively applying and teaching new processes and skills in order to accomplish a wide variety of assignments.
  • Performs the most complex and technically challenging work within area of specialization.
  • Preempts potential problems and provides effective solutions for team.
  • Works independently to interpret and apply company procedures to complete work.
  • Provides guidance to less experienced team members.
