This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Teaching Assistant for the CHYS 2P35 Winter D3 - BODYMIND DIVERSITY IN CHILDREN AND YOUTH course, instructed by Tricia Vause. Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $23.30 per hour. Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $36.67 per hour. In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The duties and responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant shall be in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. These are made up of scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required. Marker-Grader responsibilities will be required. The marker-grader is expected to mark assignments, presentations, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams and must be prepared to provide written feedback to students that will clearly identify the basis of the grade assigned; whether it is due to substantive content, or to written communications, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization of the submission. Must be available to attend in-person orientation meetings in September and January, weekly TA meetings as well as attend in-person tests and exams.
