Teaching Assistant CHYS 3P15 Fall D2-1
About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the CHYS 3P15 Fall D2 - Quantitative Research Methods in Child and Youth Studies course. This position involves assisting the instructor with various course-related duties, including scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom tasks such as preparing seminar material, student consultation, marking, grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. Marker-Grader responsibilities will also be required. The Teaching Assistant must be available to meet with the Instructor as necessary between 9 AM and 5 PM.
Requirements
- Minimum 3rd Year complete in the CHYS BA or CHYS BA/BEd program, or be entering and/or continuing the CHYS MA or CHYS PhD program.
- Must have previously completed CHYS 3P15 or equivalent, and obtained 80% or higher. Previous successful experience as a Teaching Assistant for CHYS 3P15 will be considered as equivalent.
- Current applied knowledge of SPSS for Windows. Cover letter must detail experience.
- Must have effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Benefits
- Compensation paid according to qualifications
- Undergraduate rate: $23.30 per hour (effective September 1, 2026)
- Graduate rate: $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026)
- Compensation at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate for additional duties
