About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for a Teaching Assistant for the course Psychology of Violent Predators (PSYC/FPAC 4P72) for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group). Compensation will be based on the employee's qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement, and include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration.

Requirements

  • Must have completed PSYC/FPAC 4P72 with a grade of 80%+ within the previous five years; OR equivalent completion of undergraduate course related to Forensic Psychology
  • Must have effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous successful experience as a Teaching Assistant for PSYC/FPAC 4P72 will be considered as equivalent.
  • Provide, if available, an evaluation of successful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker- Grader.
