About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for the course Transdisciplinary Study of Aggression and Crime (FPAC 2P91) for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group). The role involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams, and providing written feedback to students. The marker-grader may also be asked to invigilate mid-terms and examinations or enter grades into databases. Compensation is based on the employee's qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026.

Requirements

  • Must have completed FPAC 3P01/FPAC 2P91 within the last five years with a grade of at least 80%+.
  • Previous TA experience in FPAC 3P01/FPAC 2P91 will be considered as equivalent to course completion.
  • Must have effective communication skills, including the ability to explain subject material to students.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Applications must include a cover letter and a current resume.

Nice To Haves

  • Provide, if available, an evaluation of successful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker- Grader.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
  • Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course, at the request of the course instructor.
  • Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
