About The Position

Brock University is seeking Marker-Graders for MATH 1P66 for the Fall D2 term. This role involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams. The marker-grader will provide written feedback to students, clearly identifying the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization. Additionally, the marker-grader may be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations or enter grades into databases as requested by the course instructor. This position is governed by the Collective Agreement for CUPE4207-1.

Requirements

  • A grade of 80% or higher in this course.
  • A minimum of second-year complete in a Mathematics or Statistics program.
  • Achieved an “A” standing in at least 4 credits in Mathematics and/or Statistics.
  • Ability to follow instructions and guidelines for marking assessments.
  • Ability to meet deadlines set by the course instructor.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned.
  • Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course, at the request of the course instructor.
  • Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.

Benefits

  • Compensation based on qualifications (Master’s Degree Complete: $36.00/hour, Undergraduate Degree Complete: $31.04/hour, Third Year Complete: $22.91/hour, Second Year Complete: $20.15/hour, First Year Complete: $19.00/hour).
