About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for the Applied Statistics for Life Sciences (STAT 1P99) course for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The role involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams, and providing written feedback to students. The marker-grader may also be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations or enter grades into databases as requested by the course instructor. Compensation is based on the employee's qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026.

Requirements

  • A grade of 80% or higher in STAT 1P99.
  • Minimum of second-year complete in a Mathematics or Statistics program.
  • Achieved an “A” standing in at least 4 credits in Mathematics and/or Statistics.
  • Ability to follow instructions and guidelines for marking assessments.
  • Ability to meet deadlines set by the course instructor.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned.
  • Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course, at the request of the course instructor.
  • Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
