About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Marker-Grader position for the TOUR 2P98 - Anime Tourism course. Marker-grader positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. The marker-grader is expected to mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams and must be prepared to provide written feedback to students that will clearly identify the basis of the grade assigned; whether it is due to substantive content, or to written communications, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization of the submission. The marker-grader may be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, or enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Tourism or enrolled in a Master's degree in Tourism, Sociology, Psychology, Film Studies, Cultural Studies, Japanese Studies, Destination Development and Management or related areas in Tourism.
  • Honours B.A. in Tourism or related areas with an overall average of 80% or higher.
  • Ability to perform the various duties of the position.
  • Dependable and possess strong time management skills.
  • Intimate knowledge in at least three of Tourism, Content Tourism, Film-and-Literature Tourism, LGBTQ+ Tourism, destination management and tourism, and associated issues in tourism.
  • Demonstrate mastery of Harvard Reference Style (Anglia Ruskin University), APA or MLA.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in MS WORD, EXCEL and Brock University's Brightspace-based Learning Management System (LMS).

Nice To Haves

  • Intimate knowledge in Anime, Japanese culture, or Japanese language.
  • Work experience in the Tourism industry.
  • Being familiar with or using the “Indigenous Way of Learning/Teaching” method.

Responsibilities
