About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for the ECON 3P21 Fall D2 course. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The role involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams, and providing written feedback to students. The marker-grader may also be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations or enter grades into databases. Requirements

  • Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course.
  • Graduate of, or Major in, Economics with a minimum major average of 75%.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain subject material to students.
  • Punctual in attending classes and regular in-person meetings on campus during normal working hours.
  • Able to meet appropriate deadlines.
  • Must indicate in the cover letter which scheduled times they are NOT available for.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned.
  • Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course, at the request of the course instructor.
  • Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.

  • Compensation based on qualifications (Master’s Degree Complete: $36.00/hour, Undergraduate Degree Complete: $31.04/hour, Third Year Complete: $22.91/hour, Second Year Complete: $20.15/hour, First Year Complete: $19.00/hour).
