About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for the ECON 3P21 Fall D2 course. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The role involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams, and providing written feedback to students. The marker-grader may also be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations or enter grades into databases. Requirements

Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course.
Graduate of, or Major in, Economics with a minimum major average of 75%.
Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain subject material to students.
Punctual in attending classes and regular in-person meetings on campus during normal working hours.
Able to meet appropriate deadlines.
Must indicate in the cover letter which scheduled times they are NOT available for.

Nice To Haves

Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned.
Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course, at the request of the course instructor.
Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.

Benefits

Compensation based on qualifications (Master’s Degree Complete: $36.00/hour, Undergraduate Degree Complete: $31.04/hour, Third Year Complete: $22.91/hour, Second Year Complete: $20.15/hour, First Year Complete: $19.00/hour).
