About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Marker-Grader position in the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group for the course ECON 2P17 for the Fall D2 term. Marker-Grader positions are paid according to the qualifications the employee holds, with rates effective September 1, 2026. The specific rates are: Master’s Degree Complete ($36.00/hour), Undergraduate Degree Complete ($31.04/hour), Third Year Complete ($22.91/hour), Second Year Complete ($20.15/hour), and First Year Complete ($19.00/hour).
Requirements
- Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course.
- Graduate of, or Major in, Economics with a minimum major average of 75%.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain subject material to students.
- Punctual in attending classes and regular in-person meetings on campus during normal working hours.
- Able to meet appropriate deadlines.
- Must review the current timetable and clearly indicate in their cover letter which scheduled times they are NOT available for.
Nice To Haves
- Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
- Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
- Potentially invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course.
- Potentially enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
