About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for the ECON 2P36 Fall D2 course, Python for Data and Analytics I. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The role involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams, and providing written feedback to students. The marker-grader may also be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations or enter grades into databases as requested by the course instructor. Compensation is based on the employee's qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026.

Requirements

  • Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course.
  • Graduate of, or Major in, Economics with a minimum major average of 75%.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain subject material to students.
  • Punctual in attending classes and regular in-person meetings on campus during normal working hours.
  • Able to meet appropriate deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
  • Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course, at the request of the course instructor.
  • Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
