About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for the Economics of Professional Sport Compensation course (ECON 2P42) for the Fall D2 term. This position is paid according to the employee's qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026. Requirements

  • Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course.
  • Graduate of, or Major in, Economics with a minimum major average of 75%.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain subject material to students.
  • Punctual in attending classes and regular in-person meetings on campus during normal working hours.
  • Able to meet appropriate deadlines.
  • Must indicate seniority date within the application questionnaire (for members with seniority).
  • Must clearly indicate in their cover letter which scheduled times they are NOT available for, based on the current timetable.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
  • Potentially invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course.
  • Potentially enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
