About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Marker-Grader position in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the course TOUR 3P39 - Human Rights in Tourism. The compensation for Marker-Grader positions is based on the employee's qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026. The duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. The role involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams. The marker-grader must provide written feedback to students, clearly identifying the basis of the grade. Additionally, the marker-grader may be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations or enter grades into databases as requested by the course instructor. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Tourism, Development Studies of Tourism, Human Rights in Tourism, or related areas in Tourism or enrolled in a Master's degree in Social Justice Studies, or Labour Studies.
  • Honours B.A. in Tourism or related areas with an overall average of 80% or higher.
  • Ability to perform the various duties of the position.
  • Dependability.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Intimate knowledge of Human Rights Issues in Tourism, and Development and associated issues in Human Rights.
  • Demonstrated mastery of Harvard Reference Style (Anglia Ruskin University), APA and MLA.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in MS WORD, EXCEL and Brock University's Brightspace.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in AI Policy and Academic Integrity Policy at Brock University.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
