This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy within the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group for Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator positions. Compensation for these roles is based on qualifications: employees without a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour, while those holding a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (rates effective September 1, 2026). Additional duties required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s responsibilities will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The Collective Agreement governs part-time Instructor, Teaching Assistant, Lab Demonstrator, Course Coordinator, and Marker-Grader positions at Brock University.

Requirements

  • Must have completed MBAB5P02 or ITIS 1P97 or its equivalent with a minimum of 80% overall course grade (course equivalency determined by the course instructor)
  • Must have knowledge of MS-office applications, particularly: MS-EXCEL AND MS-ACCESS
  • Must be familiar with the basic functions of Brightspace to guide students with the uploading and/or downloading of files related to lab practices, assignments and lab tests
  • Excellent English Language Skills
  • Academic Integrity and Professionalism
  • Proven track record of working effectively and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner
