Teaching Assistant - PHAR 598 D1: Honours Pharmacology Research Project
About The Position
The Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the Honours Pharmacology Research Project course (PHAR 598D1). This is a 1-term contract position. The TA will assist the course supervisor by organizing student presentations, informing students of their presentation dates, assisting with projections, composing report sheets with student details, grading presentations, and assisting with grading manuscripts. The TA will also attend student presentations and create summary tables. The successful candidate for the D1 position will need to apply for the D2 position in the Fall.
Requirements
- Graduate student at the Master’s or Doctoral level at McGill University
- Good grasp of pharmacology
- Very good communication skills
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Authorized to work in Canada
- Willing to work in the province of Quebec
- English communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Responsibilities
- Organize student presentations
- Inform individuals about their presentation dates
- Assist with projections using computer
- Compose report sheets showing student names, supervisors, e-mails, titles of presentations
- Grade presentations
- Assist with grading of manuscripts
- Attend student presentations
- Create summary tables
Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $38.34 (effective August 2026)
- Hourly Salary: $37.34
