About The Position

The Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics is seeking two Teaching Assistants for the course PHAR 505: Structural Pharmacology. This role involves assisting the course supervisor with various aspects of the course, including attending class meetings and student presentations, setting up and invigilating exams, and providing individualized assistance to students through small group tutorial sessions. The estimated total hours of work per term is 45.

Requirements

  • A Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student at the Master’s or Doctoral level, at McGill University, employed to assist a course Supervisor.
  • Graduate student who has successfully passed PHAR 505 or equivalent course, with good knowledge of structural biology and protein chemistry.
  • Must have sufficient command of English to be able to help international students.
  • Very good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada.
  • Must be willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.
  • Requires English communication both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Attendance at class meetings and student presentations.
  • Setting up and invigilating exams.
  • Providing individualized assistance to students having difficulty with the course material, including small group tutorial sessions.
