About The Position

The Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the Pharmacology Research Project course (PHAR 599D1). This is a 1-term contract position. The TA will assist the course supervisor by organizing student presentations, informing students of their presentation dates, assisting with projections using a computer, and composing report sheets with student names, supervisors, emails, and presentation titles. The role also involves grading presentations and assisting with grading manuscripts, attending student presentations, and creating summary tables. The successful candidate for the D1 position will need to apply for the D2 position in the Fall.

Requirements

  • Graduate student at the Master’s or Doctoral level at McGill University
  • Good grasp of pharmacology
  • Very good communication skills
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec
  • English communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

  • Organize student presentations
  • Inform individuals about their dates of presentations
  • Assist with projections using computer
