About The Position
This position is for a Teaching Assistant for the "Disease Prevention and Health Promotion" course (HSS3108 Section B) during the Fall 2025 semester. The role involves assisting the professor with examinations, grading written assignments, proctoring exams, and potentially holding online office hours to address student inquiries. The course is delivered online, and the teaching assistant will need access to a computer, internet, microphone, and webcam. The contract includes hours for supervision and correction of the final exam. The number of positions available depends on the total enrollment at the start of the term.
Requirements
- Bachelor, MSc or PhD in Health Sciences or equivalent
- Very good English writing skills to accurately mark essays and long answers on exams
- Experience with online learning programs and software (as a teaching assistant)
- Experience with web software (uploading content, programming content)
- Access to a computer, Internet, microphone, and webcam
Responsibilities
- Help with examinations
- Assist with at least 2 written assignments
- Proctoring of exams
- Hold office hours online to assist professor with addressing student inquiries and concerns outside of class times
- Supervision and correction of the final exam
