About The Position
This is a Teaching Assistant position for the "Disease Prevention and Health Promotion" course (HSS3108 Section A) during the Fall 2025 semester. The role involves assisting the professor with examinations and written assignments, proctoring exams, and potentially holding online office hours to address student inquiries. The course is delivered online, and the teaching assistant will need access to a computer, internet, microphone, and webcam. This contract includes hours for supervision and correction of the final exam. The number of positions available is 3, with an expected enrollment of 180 students. The work start date is September 7, 2026, and the end date is December 31, 2026, with a total of 60 work hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor, MSc or PhD in Health Sciences or equivalent
- Very good English writing skills to accurately mark essays and long answers on exams.
- Experience with online learning programs and software (as a teaching assistant)
- Experience with web software (uploading content, programming content)
- Access to a computer, Internet, microphone, and webcam.
Responsibilities
- Help with examinations and at least 2 written assignments.
- Proctoring of exams.
- Hold office hours online to assist professor with addressing student inquiries and concerns outside of class times.
